Fischer and Lilly (spring rotation student) built a rail to quench high-temperature solid state syntheses. We tested it and it works! Huge thanks to John Boosinger for advice and mechanical help.

The Melamed Lab had a popsicle party on the lawn. We’re excited about the nice weather in Eugene!
Lab renovation continues and we now have a heat exhaust hood installed in our new lab.
Galfo is prototyping a battery test cell for thin films, modeled after a Swagelok cell. Thanks to OFAD for the great collaboration on the cell!

Lab renovations of our basement lab are underway!

We wrapped up a fun and successful first quarter at UO! Lab renovations will be underway during the winter holidays in our primary lab space, LISB 012b. We look forward to moving in next quarter.
Galfo and Celeste took a trip to Stanford to grow some lithium titanate thin films using a co-sputtering recipe Celeste developed during her postdoc. Galfo got some experience using a sputtering system and got to do some “arts and crafts” to mount substrates.
